NATIONAL BEER DAY UK 2021 | Birra Moretti

NATIONAL BEER DAY UK 2021

It’s National Beer Day UK on 15th June 2021; the date when the Magna Carta was signed in 1215 and called out the ‘right’ to have beer served in a standard measure “throughout our kingdom.” Salute!

#CHEERSTOBEER

National Beer Day UK invites everyone to ‘Cheers To Beer’ at 7pm on June 15th by raising a glass or bottle and posting a message on social media, with the hashtag #CheersToBeer.

We’re always looking for ways to bring a taste of the authentic Italian way of life to the UK and 7pm makes for a perfect Aperitivo moment. This treasured Italian tradition is a way to end the working day, relax into the evening and catch up with friends and family - a ritual bringing balance to busy lives.

So, raise a bottle of BIRRA MORETTI and #CheersToBeer this National Beer Day. Follow it with a delicious meal of roasted pepper, Taleggio and sun blushed tomato frittata in great company.

The history of beer dates back to more than 5,000 years ago where wild grains were gathered for food. No-one knows exactly how beer was discovered, but if these grains got wet, they would have fermented - possibly allowing people to first experience ‘beer’.

What we can be sure of, is our own history. Luigi Moretti founded a brewery more than a century ago in Udine, in the Friuli region of Italy. The first bottle was sold in 1860 and from the 1990s, BIRRA MORETTI became nationally distributed and is now exported to more than 40 countries.

BIRRA MORETTI is still brewed using the original recipe. It’s made in the traditional way, using the same production process that has remained almost unchanged since 1859.
